Board of Directors

  • Misty Russell

PRESIDENT | UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN - FLINT

In December of 2023, I received my AAS in Nursing from Henry Ford College (HFC) in Dearborn. I am in my 3rd semester of the University of Michigan-Flint’s RN to BSN program. During my time at HFC, I was a School of Nursing Peer Mentor, a student member of the ACEN Committee, and the Activity Director of the SNA at HFC. I have completed the Leadership and Honors University Program with the NSNA with whom I am a PIT Recruiter as well as a member of the 2023-2024 Resolutions Committee. I am enjoying every moment of my journey through nursing school. My goal is to gain as much knowledge as possible to be the best nurse I can be for my patients and our profession. My long-term goals include completing UMF’s DNP with MSN program and to one day teach nursing students just as ourselves! I‘ve been blessed to have some great mentors along the way, one once said “Everything you do doesn’t have to be perfect, but it should be excellent, make sure you always move with excellence.”

  • Vallery Seay

2ND VICE PRESIDENT | BAKER COLLEGE - CADILLAC

My name is Vallery Seay. I am in my 4th of 6 semesters at Baker College School of Nursing. I love being involved in leadership and have been involved since I started the nursing program. I served one year as the project chairperson of my local Student Nurses’ Association chapter. I enjoyed setting up fundraisers for our local chapter and assisting fellow students with volunteer opportunities. I am now serving my second year as the 2nd Vice President of the Michigan Nursing Students Association. I aspire to be an emergency department nurse when I graduate but am still exploring other areas of nursing. I also plan on becoming a travel nurse someday after I get some experience. I am always free to suggestions and new ideas for convention planning, so feel free to reach out!

BTN DIRECTIOR | MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY

Hi my name is Michelle Gallegos, I am a Nursing Student at Michigan State University. A little information about me is that I am in the Running and Triathlon clubs. I love the outdoors and I like to scrapbook a lot. The reason why I ran for this position is because I always enjoyed interacting with other Nursing students. I want to learn more about their undergraduate learning experiences and interact with Nurses in different specialties. My plan after MNSA is to become a Pediatric Nurse. I may look into graduate school. During the MNSA convention, I was inspired to continue my education and it is something I would like to do for future nursing students.
