Board of Directors

  • Misty Russell, RN

President | University of Michigan - Flint

Hello everyone! My name is Misty, I am in my last year at the University of Michigan-Flint’s RN to BSN program. I received my AAS-Nursing Degree at Henry Ford College. During my time at HFC, I was a School of Nursing Peer Mentor, a student member of the ACEN Committee, and the Activity Director of the SNA at HFC. I have completed the Leadership and Honors University Program with the NSNA with whom I am a PIT Recruiter as well as a member of the 2023-2024 Resolutions Committee. I am enjoying every moment of my journey through nursing school. My goal is to gain as much knowledge as possible to be the best nurse I can be for my patients and our profession. My long-term goals include completing UMF’s DNP with MSN program and to one day teach nursing students just as ourselves! I‘ve been blessed to have some great mentors, some words of wisdom from one that I always strive for is “everything you do doesn’t have to be perfect, but it should be excellent, make sure you always move with excellence.” Feel free to reach out with any questions or support I may be able to provide from the MNSA or as a nursing student! I hope to serve the MNSA & all MI nursing students to the best of my abilities!

I love the outdoors and working with our animals at our mini farm. I'm a certified Medical assistant, EKG specialist, and phlebotomist. I look forward to working with my nursing community!

  • Lydia Gryguc

    Secretary | Henry Ford College

Hi! My name is Lydia Gryguc and I am a nursing student at Henry Ford College. I have worked as a nursing assistant for two years, which has given me valuable hands-on experience in patient care. While I hope to become an ICU nurse, I’m still exploring different career options within the nursing field. I’m excited to serve in this position and look forward to helping my fellow nursing students by providing support and fostering a sense of community within our program. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and baking—activities that allow me to relax outside of school.

    Michelle Gallegos

BTN Director | Michigan State University

Hi my name is Michelle Gallegos, I am a Nursing Student at Michigan State University. A little information about me is that I am in the Running and Triathlon clubs. I love the outdoors and I like to scrapbook a lot. The reason why I ran for this position is because I always enjoyed interacting with other Nursing students. I want to learn more about their undergraduate learning experiences and interact with Nurses in different specialties. My plan after MNSA is to become a Pediatric Nurse. I may look into graduate school. During the MNSA convention, I was inspired to continue my education and it is something I would like to do for future nursing students.
